JANUARY 2009 SCHEDULE

4-week Beginner series:

4-week Advanced Beginner series:
Thursdays, 7:30-9 pm, January 8-29 (taught by Andres Amarilla)

Pre-Intermediate:
Saturdays, 6-7:30 pm. Topic: Shortcut to the Dance Floor (taught by Andres Amarilla). One of the main challenges in learning tango is taking the steps, elements and information that you gain in beginner and advanced beginner classes and learning to apply them on the dance floor in a milonga or practica. This class will teach tricks to help you dance fluenty, musically and with ease on the milonga floor.
Ongoing drop-in class. Single class: $22. 5-class card: $100. $10-class card: $180. See below for student prices.

Intermediate:
Mondays 7:00-8:30 pm. Topic: Dancing Better by Learning Tango Analysis & Notation (taught by Andres Amarilla)
Ongoing drop-in class. Single class: $22. 5-class card: $100. $10-class card: $180. See below for student prices.

Advanced:
Mondays 8:45-10:15 pm. Topic: The Giro as a Basis for Improvisation in Tango (taught by Andres Amarilla). Class requires instructor permission.

Nuevo Tango (Very Advanced):
Saturdays 4-6 pm. Students must come with a partner. You will work with your partner for most of the class. In order to succeed in this class, you will need to have incorporated the information about technique and structure that we teach in the intermediate and advanced classes. That information will not be repeated in the Nuevo Tango class. To learn more about nuevo tango, click here. $25
(Because the pool of students who can take this class is fairly small, we've decided to only hold the Nuevo Tango class on Saturdays when at least 3 couples can make it. If you're planning to attend the class on a certain date, please RSVP to meredithklein@gmail.com.)

All classes at South Street Tango Studio, 1527 South St., Philadelphia, PA. Except where otherwise noted, all classes are taught by Andres & Meredith.
